AL.Berlin - Remise Takeover
Before, there was AL.Berlin Remise, a small café-bar that, between 2020 and 2023, held something much bigger than itself. It was a meeting point where music, conversation, and political imagination blurred into one another; where people arrived after demonstrations, film screenings, long discussions or simply long days, and stayed to share joy, grief, and everything in between. For one night, that energy returns to Arkaoda, opening both floors to the extended AL.Berlin family, old friends, familiar faces, and new connections moving through.
Upstairs, Calamidades Lola opens the night with selections rooted in the Colombian Caribbean and shaped by migration and memory. After thar Acid Halal, Vex, and Ziad take over the bar with a fluid, tastefully unpredictable blend of SWANA and beyond.
Downstairs in the club, V1V1S3KT1ON sets the tone with a restless, wide-ranging approach, followed by latin club legend and NOFUTUREBERLIN boss Paulah. Then Coco Batata (aka Mazen Kerbaj) will play what he calls ‘weird shit’, a daring and eclectic mixture of krautrock, free jazz, French songs, world pop, Arab trash and what not. His slogan – stolen from his all time favorite Finnish band: ‘I play, you dance’. He will be joined by Tnuisian multi-genre DJ and Producer Salma. Then we will get the return of once local legend and “Hardest Working DJ in Berlin” Jimmy Trash, digging into his (un)usual wax selections, before fisk closes the night with a high-energy, genre-spanning set.
Not a nostalgic rewind, but a continuation with the same spirit, reassembled for now.
